Information Message

The popular media festival has started.

At the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth, the updated 23rd International Media Festival "PressSpring on the Dnieper Slopes" has begun.

During the online meeting, the organizers gathered educators and youth from Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy, Lviv, Chernihiv, Kyiv regions, and Kyiv.

The event not only announced traditional activities but also introduced some changes in the structure and management of the festival. “This year, we are not offering participants sub-themes as we usually do. In our opinion, it’s modern to write and film about current topics considering new global and Ukrainian trends, and the main overarching theme of this year’s media fest is 'I Believe'," explains the festival coordinator, head of the 'YUN-PRESS' agency, Nadia Illiuk.

Global Trends Topics:

  • Protection of personal identity from AI use
  • Alternative education
  • Immersion in digital space simulation
  • The pursuit of intense emotions against the backdrop of burnout
  • Increased focus on community after experiencing isolation
  • The revival of etiquette in light of instances of offensive behavior in public spaces
  • Analog tourism without digital technologies and mobile phones, etc.

Ukrainian Trends:A conditional division into two vectors: the rear and the front.

  • Rear (volunteering; hacking blackouts; fighting enemy IPSOs; farewell to post-colonial heritage, etc.)
  • Front (new technologies in the creation of domestic weapons, strengthening society and its unity, etc.)

Among the modifications is the presentation of the "International Open Educational Media Platform" and a bonus system for participation in thematic games, masterclasses, and contests during the period from the start of the festival to the submission of competition works.

We invite you to participate in this year’s festival. Write, photograph, and film videos on the festival theme – 2025 "I BELIEVE." Formulate your own sub-themes within the context of the main theme of the festival.

Participants: children and youth aged 9 to 21 years, as well as educators and journalists from Ukraine and abroad.

Showcase your skills and talents in the festival nominations: "Literary Work," "Printed Publication," "Journalistic Work," "Media Project and Social Advertising," "Photographic Work," "Internet Journalism," "Television Work," "Film," "Radio Work," "Animation Film," "Media Innovation" (for adults).

Festival Roadmap (stages)

From January 15 to May 15, 2025, the International Open Educational Media Platform will operate, offering traditional consultations from jury members, meetings with thought leaders, masterclasses from experts, media trainers, journalists, directors, actors, bloggers, virtual tours of editorial offices in the UK, Canada, Israel, Germany, Poland, exchange of experiences, media project presentations, etc.

Project within a Project

The "Volunteering – Mobilization of Good" project will start. This new project will feature inspiring stories about volunteering. We encourage participants to join and submit original informational materials for this collection.

The idea of creating mini-projects (a project within a project) during the festival was conceived at the beginning of the war. For the third year in a row, the festival organizing committee is creating collections based on materials for these projects: "War Diaries (Non-Childish Stories)," "Media Impressionism of Kyiv’s Spring/Home Country," "War Diaries. Moshchun. Angels of Victory."

This year, we invite submissions for the collection "Volunteering – Mobilization of Good." It will feature inspiring stories about volunteering.
