Who hasn’t loved animated films since childhood? "Animo" is the soul, so the animator breathes life into everything they touch: drawings, puppets, objects... But is animation always fun and easy?
How to create your first animated film and about animation during the war, were discussed with the guest of the PressVesna studio — #OlenaKasavina, animator, director, and animation and directing instructor at KNUKTiT named after I. K. Karpenko-Kary, who visited the Information and Creative Agency "YUN-PRES" at the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth as part of the International Media Festival-Competition "PressSpring on the Dnieper Slopes" in the "Animated Film" nomination.
Her students also joined the conversation online. In a friendly circle, they watched student films and discussed why animation is so popular right now. This was especially interesting for the members of the YUN-PRES creative team, who see themselves in this profession in the future.
Olena Borysivna shared stories about the work of students and animators during the war. She talked about a student film for the Shevchenko Museum, a future film for the Vasyl Stus Museum, the emotional film by Nastya Falyleeva "I Died in Irpin," and the film "Putler Kaput" by Mykyta Lyskov, where he gathered the works of animators from all over the world who are deeply concerned about the war. He also joined us online and emphasized that the idea is the most important thing in animation. So, if you have an interesting idea and a desire to bring it to life — start creating.
