🖇️OPPORTUNITIES AND RISKS OF THE DIGITAL SPACE.

At the educational media platform of the XXIII International Media Festival-Competition "PressSpring on the Dnieper Slopes"-2025, an online meeting was held with participants of the nominations "Printed Publication" and "Journalistic Work" (head of the I.T.A. "YUN-PRESS" department of the Palace of Children and Youth, coordinator – Oksana Havryliuk).

Participants joined a master class on the topic "Trust and Critical Thinking in the Digital Space" by Natalia Kharchenko, PhD in Education, Senior Researcher at the #Institute_of_Problems_of_Education_NAPN_Ukraine, and Project Manager at the publishing house "Shkilny Svit."

During the meeting, the participants discussed issues such as assessing the reliability of online materials, the advantages and risks of the digital environment, problems of manipulation, the spread of fake news, and propaganda.

The participants of the media platform received valuable advice:

• If a news item evokes strong emotions – it’s a reason to stop and verify the source;
• Look at the big picture, not individual cases;
• Analyze statistics;
• Evaluate the logic of arguments, not the popularity of the source;
• Pay attention to the emotional impact of the news.

To earn additional points for their competition materials, participants of "PressSpring-2025" were given a practical task: to conduct a survey among their peers on the topic "What would you change in internet culture if you could?"
