INTERNATIONAL OPEN EDUCATIONAL MEDIA PLATFORM IN ACTION 🌈

The new season of media meetings has begun with jury members and media professionals at the International Media Festival-Competition "PressSpring on the Dnipro Slopes" – 2025, organized by the Information and Creative Agency "YUN-PRESS" and the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth.

The marathon kicked off with the online studio "Media Innovation", a category for educators and journalists working with children. It was heartening to see both returning participants and newcomers joining us from Kyiv and its region, Poltava, Dnipro and its region, Chernivtsi, the Odesa region, Zaporizhzhia, and Lviv – Truskavets. We sincerely appreciate your trust and high regard.

Today, educators face both educational and moral challenges—global trends we could not overlook while shaping this year’s festival theme: "I BELIEVE...".

For the third consecutive year, an exciting feature of the festival’s internal program is #project_within_a_project. This year’s initiative, titled "Volunteering – Mobilization of Kindness," provides a platform to share volunteer-driven journalistic, literary, film, and photo stories.

In support of volunteering as a modern trend, the event’s headliner—Oksana Volosheniuk, senior lecturer at the Institute of Screen Arts at KNUTKiT named after I.K. Karpenko-Kary, media education expert at AUP, head of the Ukrainian Film Critics Union, and author of media education manuals—presented teasers of contemporary Ukrainian documentary films as a powerful tool for fostering social empathy in children.

"Today, it is crucial to have the ability to empathize and a desire to help people and animals, especially in times of crisis. This should be taught through real-life examples from non-fiction cinema," the speaker emphasized, urging all attendees to teach children the importance of remaining compassionate human beings.
