The capital's student youth is actively preparing for "PressSpring" – 2025, the traditional media competition for young journalists. Creative energy is buzzing in Kyiv schools as students discuss ideas, prepare materials, and choose categories to participate in.
Especially popular are the "Media Project and Social Advertising" and "Teleworking" categories, says Oksana Havrylyuk, head of the "Young Reporters" club at the Information and Creative Agency "YUN-PRESS" of the Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth (KPDU). "Youth wants to highlight current issues through the lens of their own perspective."
Students actively discuss important societal issues, from environmental problems to the development of local communities. Special attention is given to covering volunteer initiatives and projects supporting Ukraine's defenders.
"Classes are held in hybrid formats. Students, together with their mentors, delve into the nuances of journalistic genres, create quality content, and work with information sources. Experienced journalists lead workshops, share secrets, and offer valuable advice to their younger colleagues. Recently, we discussed how to make an interview successful," noted Zhanna Stashko, leader of the "Journalism for All" club.
"PressSpring" provides an opportunity to showcase creative abilities and helps students decide on their future profession. So, join us! The PressSpring media studios have already started their work.
